Privacy policy

Festible helps you plan festivals, remember the sets you saw, and discover the next ones. This policy explains what we collect, why, who helps us run the service, and the choices you have. We have tried to keep it short and plain.

Who we are

Festible is run by Peter Connolly, Ireland. We are the data controller for the personal data described here. Questions or requests: feedback@festible.io.

What we collect

Your account. Your username, email address and password. We store your password only as a one-way hash, so nobody (including us) can read it.

Your festival activity. The festivals you are going to or went to, the sets you plan, mark as must-see or saw, your ratings, the artists you follow, the artists you tell us you like or dislike, and any answers you give to our listening questions. This is the heart of Festible: it is how we build your festival history and your recommendations.

Your taste profile. From your activity we build a picture of the kind of music and live experiences you enjoy, and a short written description of it. We keep this so we do not have to rebuild it every time.

Questions you ask. If you use “Ask Festible”, we send your question to our text-generation provider to write the answer. We do not store the question.

Your crew. When you share or accept an invite for a festival, we record that connection for that festival only.

Your predictions. If you predict a festival's poster or keep a wish list for a festival, we store the artists you picked and when you picked them, including picks you later change or remove.

Usage history (only if you say yes). If you turn on “Your data”, we record how you use Festible: artists and lineups you view, artists you search for, and changes to follows and plans. We use this to improve recommendations and the product. It is off unless you turn it on. Turning it off deletes what we recorded.

Contact preference. Whether you agreed to hear from us about Festible news and new features, and when you chose. It is off unless you turn it on.

Technical data. To keep the service secure and working, our servers handle your IP address and basic request details. We use your IP address briefly to limit repeated sign-in and sign-up attempts. When something breaks, we log the error, which can include your user ID; error records are deleted after 30 days.

What we do not collect. We do not collect your contacts, photos or camera, and we do not track you across other apps or websites. We have no advertising and no advertising identifiers.

Location stays on your phone. “Who’s This” asks for your location while you use it, to work out which stage you are nearest. That calculation happens on your phone. Your location is never sent to us.

Reminders stay on your phone. Must-see reminders are scheduled by your phone. We do not use push notification services.

Who can see your data

Your crew. People you connect with at a festival can see your username, the sets you plan at that festival, the sets you saw there, and your poster predictions and wish list for that festival. They never see your ratings or anything you marked private. A connection at one festival shows nothing about any other festival.

Invite links. Anyone with your invite link can see your username and the festival it is for.

Anonymous statistics. We may publish or share statistics made by combining many people’s activity, for example how many people wished for an artist at a festival. These never include your name, username or anything that identifies you, and we only show a figure when enough people are counted.

How long we keep it

We keep your account and festival activity until you delete your account. Usage history is deleted when you turn “Your data” off, or when you delete your account. Error records are deleted after 30 days. Rate-limit records last minutes. Our hosting providers keep short-lived server logs and backups for their own retention periods.

Your rights

Cookies and local storage

The website uses one cookie, festible_session, to keep you signed in (30 days). It is essential, so it needs no consent. We use no advertising or analytics cookies. The website and app also store some data on your device, such as a saved copy of festival schedules for when you have no signal; this never leaves your device.

Age

Festible is for people aged 16 and over. If you are younger, please do not create an account.

Changes

If we change this policy in a way that matters, we will tell you in the app or by email before the change takes effect.
